International Women’s Day is celebrated on 8th March every year globally. It is dedicated to honoring the achievements of women to band together to fight for gender equality and women’s rights. The main aim of celebrating the day is to eliminate the discrimination against woman.
It is the day to recognize the importance of women in our lives, and to say them “thank you” for their sacrifices and hard work. It is a United Nations (UN) sanctioned global holiday. Logo is also there to represent the day. International Women’s Day Logo symbolizes the hope and action surrounding women’s equality.

Women’s Day History:
Women’s Day was started in 1909 which took place on 28th February and was called as National Women’s Day according to UN (United Nations). The first official International Women’s Day was celebrated in countries Germany, Austria, Denmark and Switzerland on 19th March in the year 1911. Rallies were organized in which many people attended. Some years later, European Countries celebrated the day on 8th March. On 8th March 1975, United Nations celebrated International Women’s Day as an official holiday. Since then, the day was celebrated Worldwide on 8th March.

International Women’s Day Theme 2021:
